Project description

This project aims to better understand student perspectives of using a novel and individualized online case-based discussion between a pharmacy student and pharmacist instructor in developing patient case presentation and communication of clinical information skills in preparation for their advanced pharmacy practice practicums. Patient case presentations provide a unique opportunity for preceptors to assess a students’ knowledge, clinical reasoning and communication skills in one core activity.

What are the attitudes and perceptions of students engaging with this instructional method? 

To what extent does the instructional method foster patient presentation skills and effective communication of clinical information?

How might the experience of a student participating in this instructional method be described?
