Inclusive Survey Design: While surveys are one of the most commonly used data collection methods, designing effective surveys that elicit useful and insightful data can be challenging. The goal of this workshop is to help you gain a better understanding of designing effective surveys that elicit useful and insightful data. Register for the February 18th event.
Classroom Evaluation and Research: Do I Need Ethics Approval? Participants will be taken through the process of obtaining BREB approval, key information needed to include in applications and detail ethical considerations for conducting research and evaluation in the classroom. Register for the March 31st event.
Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) Evaluation workshop: A workshop to guide development of an evaluation framework, and provided an overview of commonly used data collection methods (e.g., surveys, focus groups and interviews).
CTLT Spring Institute: e-poster session: ISoTL will host an e-poster session at the Spring Institute in May. This lightning round of e-posters will provide an opportunity to engage with an online community of colleagues about their SoTL project experiences. A call for proposals will be advertised beginning in April.
Getting your SoTL Work Published: This session will share guiding principles for writing and navigating the process of submitting a manuscript for publication in journals.
CTLT Summer Institute: SoTL Experiences: ISoTL will host a panel discussion on faculty experiences with engaging in the scholarship of teaching and learning at UBC.
4th Annual Celebrate SoTL: An event for SoTL practitioners, new faculty and students across UBC the opportunity to engage in dialogue around teaching and learning and to advance SoTL work. Typically Celebrate SoTL involves a keynote speaker, at least one interactive workshop and a poster session.
Open Education Resource (OER) Fund Evaluation workshop: This workshop will offer guidance in developing an evaluation framework, and provided an overview of commonly used data collection methods (e.g., surveys, focus groups and interviews) for OER fund project holders.
CTLT Winter Institute: ISoTL will host an event at the Winter Institute, this may be a panel discussion or an e-poster event.
